Intermec SR61 Handheld Barcode ScannerSR61The Intermec SR61 wireless base station is useful and convenient since it offers a secure ISCP Protocol connection that joins multiple Intermec industrial scanners like the SF51 and the SR61B, and the host device without needing any special software downloads. This makes it economical and time saving. Being a multiport base station, it permits a maximum of seven Bluetooth scanners to function in the same work area with a wireless link to the same mobile cart, PC or Intermec printer. Since the number of hosts gets reduced, quicker returns on investment can be witnessed and a less cluttered work environment becomes an added advantage. The SR61 comes with an association barcode on top and all wireless scanners can be connected or disconnected by reading that. This empowers line managers and individual users to link the scanners to the system without requiring access to the host system. This also reduces the number of calls made to the system administrators and unnecessary access to the system gets avoided. The SR61and the associated scanners have a bi-directional communication, which is fully secure and the data transfer gets safely validated. The SR61 gets the support of a Bluetooth Class I radio and this helps to permit any associated user to work in a radius of up to 100 meters from the base, out in the open. On moving beyond the given radius and out of range a visual Intermec Ready-to-work-light issues a warning and an audio message is sent by the SF51 or SR61 scanners. The reconnection will take place automatically on reentering the range. The SR61 can support multiple host interfaces like Wedge, RS232, USB, and Wand Emulation, and this eases the setup process without any need for adaptors or dongles, which are more appropriate for a non-industrial environment. The biggest advantage of the SR61 is that each wireless scanner linked to it can function like an independent unit with its own specific configuration. This ensures flexibility and reliable performance. When connected to the multiport SR 61 for the first time all that is required is reading the configuration codes of the base station that can also be accessed online through the Intermec EasySet configuration software that also provides numerous data editing tools.
