The Intermec SR61 wireless base station is useful and convenient since it offers a secure ISCP Protocol connection that joins multiple Intermec industrial scanners like the SF51 and the SR61B, and the host device without needing any special software downloads. Being a multiport base station, it permits a maximum of seven Bluetooth scanners to function in the same work area with a wireless link to the same mobile cart, PC or Intermec printer. On moving beyond the given radius and out of range a visual Intermec Ready-to-work-light issues a warning and an audio message is sent by the SF51 or SR61 scanners. The reconnection will take place automatically on reentering the range. The SR61 can support multiple host interfaces like Wedge, RS232, USB, and Wand Emulation, and this eases the setup process without any need for adaptors or dongles, which are more appropriate for a non-industrial environment. The biggest advantage of the SR61 is that each wireless scanner linked to it can function like an independent unit with its own specific configuration. When connected to the multiport SR 61 for the first time all that is required is reading the configuration codes of the base station that can also be accessed online through the Intermec EasySet configuration software that also provides numerous data editing tools.
